Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) were created following the Health and Social Care Act in 2012, and replaced Primary Care Trusts on 1 April 2013. CCGs are clinically-led statutory NHS bodies responsible for the planning and commissioning of health care services for their local area.

Why should I need to look at the CCG website?

After devolution of the NHS budget to the Greater Manchester CCGs the power of these bodies will be more pertinent than ever. Find out what is happening in your CCG, how you are involved, and how you can input on decision making.

Healthwatch  is the independent consumer champion created to gather and represent the views of the public. Healthwatch plays a role at both national and local level and will make sure that the views of the public and people who use services are taken into account.

The Healthwatch of each area will help in the arbitration of your treatment when things go wrong. You are able to complain about treatment received, find reviews on GP practices, and get hints and tips on health in your local area.
